Visit in spring and see the numerous bluebell woods and orchards in blossom or in summer when the fields are bright yellow from the rape seed, or harvest time when hops and apples are being gathered in.
 Just an hour from London, this corner of Southern England which has always played such an important role in the history of the nation, is bursting with medieval villages and towns and historic sites ranging from Roman castles to beautiful village churches, wind and watermills that are still working today, to fascinating museums depicting many eras in our past, both ancient and modern.
 Three of our tours begin and end in Canterbury. Augustine arrived here over 1,400 years ago to bring Christianity back to England. Caesar conquered the Britons near Canterbury (and many other battles have been witnessed here since). And pilgrims still come to marvel at the architectural splendours of this cathedral city.
Canterbury and Tonbridge are very accessible by train.
