Starting in the fertile northeast of Slovenia, this scenic tour takes you into three different countries. Arriving in Ptuj, the oldest town in Slovenia, you can relax and enjoy the sights of this Thermal Spa town complete with Roman ruins, temples and medieval castle. Cycling through the Pohorje region towards the university city of Maribor, you are greeted by a landscape of remarkable peat moors with lakes and extensive grassy plains and slopes.

On the margins of the Pannonian Plain the green landscape of wheat fields and winegrowing hills along the Mura river lead you to the Radenci health resort. From here you can make a short trip to Austria and visit Bad Radkersburg. Leaving Radenci you cycle through the ‘granary’ of Slovenia to Moravske Toplice, one of the most modern Thermal Spas in Slovenia.

The third country to visit is Hungary where you can visit a pottery or buy more souvenirs before your departure home.

Daily Itinerary
 

Ptij Cycle PathDay 1: Arrive Ptuj.

Individual arrival to the oldest town in Slovenia. Do take a stroll through this lovely city or just enjoy the rest of the day in the Thermal Spa of Ptuj.

Day 2: Roundtrip to Maribor, 38 miles (60km).

Wherever travellers come from, the Pohorje region, the green speciality of Slovenia’s mountain world, greets them with remarkable peat moors with lakes, extensive grassy plains and slopes. Stroll through the proud centre of northeastern Slovenia, the university city of Maribor. Bearing witness to a flourishing history is the rich architecture of past centuries.

Day 3: Ptuj to Radenci, 31 miles (50km).

You will cycle on the margins of the Pannonian Plain with the green landscape of wheat fields and winegrowing hills along the Mura River to the Radenci Health resort, developed with the rich gift of nature.

Day 4: Roundtrip to Bad Radkersburg, 26 miles (42km).

How about a short trip into Austria. Along the Mur River you leave Radenci and cycle through the nature reserve Goricko, visit the interesting town of Bad Radkersburg in Austria and return to Radenci.

Day 5: Radenci to Moravske Toplice, 25 miles (40km).

On the thermal bike path you cycle to the "Granary“ of Slovenia – the fertile region of Prekmurje. Moravske Toplice, one of the lushest and most modern thermal Spas in Slovenia is your destination for today.

Day 6: Roundtrip to Hungary, 33 miles (53km).

Todays visit to neighbouring Hungary where you can visit a pottery or buy more souvenirs. Back in Slovenia you can relax at the Bukovnica storage lake and return to the ultimate relaxation - your Spa hotel in Moravske Toplice.

Day 7: Depart from Moravske Toplice.

Time to say goodbye or maybe to extend your holiday.
