Day 1: Arrival in Pezinok
Arrival in Pezinok where you will stay for three nights. While staying in Pezinok do not forget to visit the Slovak National Wine Cellar where you will have the chance to taste the best Slovakian wines. In the evening you can go out for a drink to one of the local traditional wine cellars, restaurants or bars. The journey from Bratislava to Pezinok is about 45 minutes by taxi but can be reached easily by train from Bratislava
Day 2:
Round trip to Castle Cerveny Kamen “Red Rock”, 28 miles (45km)
After breakfast your bikes will be ready for you to head off towards the village of Senkvice. Cycling through this village you will carry on cycling to the village of Vistuk, where just before entering the village you will see a small lake on your left and in the distance the fascinating castle of Red Rock. This castle is one of the most impressive castles in Slovakia. Heading back towards Pezinok you will cycle through Modra, now famous for its winemaking, where you can stop for a moment to enjoy the unspoilt main town square.
Day 3: Round trip to Senec and Sunny Lakes, 16 miles (25km)
Today you will cycle to the town of Senec, well know for it's sunny lakes which are an ideal spot for lovers of water sports. You can take some time for a swim or just simply relax by the waters edge. You might prefer to try the thermal waters. To see the best of the lakes you will cycle all the way round them before returnig to Pezinok. In the evening you can enjoy a visit to one of the traditional wine cellars owned by a local family where you will have the chance to taste the local produce and try some traditional food as well.
Day 4: Pezinok to Stupava, 20 miles (32km)
In the morning you will cycle through vineyards before disappearing into the cover of the Carpathian forests. There is an uphill section through the forests which is the hard part of the trip. However, once you reach the top of the hill you will enjoy a wonderful ride down hill passing mountain streams and rocky cliffs making this an unforgettable day’s cycling. Finally you will arrive in Stupava, famous for pottery and ceramics, for your overnight's stay.
Day 5: Stupava - Devin Castle - Bratislava, 31 miles (50km)
After breakfast you will continue cycling west until you reach the banks of the River Morava where you join the green cycle path heading to Devin Castle. Cycling on the bank of the River Morava all the way to Devin Castle is a very enjoyable part of today’s cycling. Taking time out to visit the castle, you can then continue cycling to the centre of Bratislava, one of the youngest capitals in Europe, where you will check-in to your hotel.
Day 6: Round trip from Bratislava, 37 miles (60km)
Today is the last day of cycling and the route, following the banks of the Danube, is one of the highlights of this trip. You will experience the quietness of the countryside and the beauty of the wildlife and birds. Cycling in one direction you then cross a bridge and return to Bratislava on the other side of the river, passing through small settlements and farmland to give you a real taste of Slovakia.
Day 7: Sightseeing in Bratislava
Day to explore Bratislava. The rich mix of cultures and nations has left its mark in the language spoken here and also in the customs, cuisine and lifestyle. Whether you want to browse around shops, go to some of the many art galleries, take in some live music or just relax in the squares of the centre enjoying a coffee in one of the many cafes. It combines elegance with charm. Visitors say that the city has a relaxed Mediterranean type atmosphere.
Day 8: Depart from Bratislava
Checkout from your hotel after breakfast to make your way home.
