Cycle through a string of "Black & White" Villages, each with their own teashop, inn and unique history. These medieval villages welcome you with great food and a friendly atmosphere. A very adaptable tour for groups of friends or families.
Day 1: Arrival in Teme Valley and cycle to Presteigne, 15 miles (24 km).
Arrive at Petchfield Farm by 11-12am, you are fitted out with your bike & equipment. Cycle on idyllic country lanes and cross the river Lugg to cycle into Wales. Presteigne is home to the unique Judges Lodging museum & to many arts events – Sheep Music - a world music festival in July, and a classical music festival in August. (Optional longer route plus 14 miles - 22 km)
Day 2: Presteigne to Weobley or Dilwyn, 12 miles (19 km).
Cycle through the picturesque half-timbered villages of North Herefordshire, visit a cider farm, the New Inn (only 600 years old) or the water gardens at Pembridge. Unique half-timbered architecture in all the villages – visit the medieval dovecots at Eardisland and Luntley and the unique bell towers at Pembridge & Yarpole. Staying overnight in a classic “Black and White “Village, home to Jules restaurant –voted as one of the best places to eat by our cyclists (Optional longer routes plus 14 miles - 22 km)
Day 3: Weobley to Teme Valley, 17 miles (27 km).
Possibility to have your lunch in a Michelin starred inn and visit two grand National Trust houses (Croft Castle and Berrington Hall). In between watermeadows, forest and a wicked last hill (called the Goggin) to finish your cycle ride. (Extra 3 miles to visit Croft Castle-NT).
