Long Compton in CotswoldsDay 1: Arrival in Chipping Campden.

The first day is very flexible depending on your time of arrival, with a choice of routes that can include a visit to the close-by National Trust's 'Hidcote Manor Garden'.

Day 2: Circular route from Chipping Campden, 30 miles (48km).

The circular route will take you through a variety of delightful places, such as Broad Campden with its many thatched cottages and well-tended gardens, Blockley with its steep streets, Upper and Lower Slaughter, Stow-on-the-Wold 'where the wind blows cold', returning gently through the quiet country lanes to Chipping Campden.

At night, sample cosy pubs or intimate restaurants. As you are only 11 miles from Stratford-upon-Avon, we can arrange theatre tickets and transport to the Royal Shakespeare Theatre - please enquire upon booking.

Day 3: Chipping Campden to Winchcombe, 20 miles (32km).

Winchcombe was the ancient walled city of Mercia until the 11th century, when it became part of Gloucestershire; it is now a small town with shops, pubs, tearooms, restaurants and a Castle - Sudeley Castle dating from 1441, complete with Elizabethan Garden - well worth a visit!

Day 4: Circular route from Winchcombe, 30 miles(48km).

You will discover Stanway village with its Jacobean Manor House and the neighbouring village of Cyclists in Bourton on the WaterStanton, tucked at the bottom of the hill, before travelling into Worcestershire to Elmley Castle with its 'black and white' cottages. Passing by Beckford Silk Mill (a very good tea room!) and on to Overbury, a village still owned by the Holland-Martin family and where the telephone boxes are painted green, you will return at a leisurely pace to Winchcombe.

Day 5: Winchcombe to Chipping Campden, 20 miles (32km).

Today you will return to Chipping Campden and depart for home.
