Day 1 (Saturday): Arrival in Graz.
Arrive in Graz where Italian and Austrian culture and cuisine meet with a truly extraordinary result.
Day 2 (Sunday): Graz to Sulmtal/Gleinstätten, 38 miles (60 km).
Today you are cycling through a lot of pumpkin fields, as well as through villages such as Stainz with its castle and museum "Joaneum". Stop for your wine tasting at the house of Stainz. After your wine tasting you cycle along the well-known Schilcher wine street and “pumkin seed oil track bike path” where you will reach Sulmtal valley.
Day 3 (Monday): Sulmtal/Gleinstätten to Gamlitz, 22 miles (35 km).
Vineyards wherever you cast your eyes! The most famous local grapes are Riesling wines and Weißburgunder white wine. Some climbs are rewarded by stunning views of the soft hills of “Styrian Tuscany” and neighbouring Slovenia. You stay overnight in Gamlitz, where you can visit the very interesting wine museum of Castle Gamlitz.
Day 4 (Tuesday): Gamlitz to Klöch, 29 miles (47 km).
The river Mur is your guide to Mureck, where you can see the river mill. You pass Lake Röcksee, where you can take a refreshing plunge. Today you stay in Klöch and in the evening you will have dinner with wine-tasting.
Day 5 (Wednesday): Klöch to thermal spa of Loipersdorf, 31 miles (50 km).
Sunflowers, colourful pumpkin fields and a fruit trees are leading you along the Austrian-Slovenian boarder to the well-known thermal spa village of Loipersdorf.
Day 6 (Thursday): Thermal spa of Loipersdorf to Gleisdorf, 34 miles (55 km).
Persuade yourself to stop in one of the numerous “Heurigen” and try the high quality of the tasty Styrian food. You also have the possibility to make an excursion to the castle “Riegersburg” where you can visit a unique bird’s eye view.
Day 7 (Friday): Gleisdorf to Graz, 22 miles (35 km).
You have to manage one last uphill stage, afterwards you cycle always downhill to Graz. In the afternoon you can discover Graz with its numerous sightseeing possibilities.
Day 8 (Saturday): Departure from Graz.
Time to make your way home.
