Day 1 Saturday: Arrival in Passau
Arrive in Passau, the “Bishop-City”, close to the Bavarian/Austrian border to board the MS THEODOR KÖRNER at 5.00pm. The crew welcomes you on board with a cocktail before dinner.
Day 2 Sunday: Passau to Schlögen to Linz, 31 miles (50 km). Downstream, the route leads you to pretty villages amid natural landscape. Need a boost? Try some of the special cordials and liqueurs in the Trappist monastery in Engelszell. Supposedly they have “special healing powers”. Let yourself relax on the sun deck after a successful day while the ship takes you through the romantic Schlögener loop, where the river makes a very abrupt 180 degree turn. After dinner discover Linz, the capital of upper Austria.
Day 3 Monday: Linz to Grein, 23 miles (36 km). You ride through quaint rural regions and fascinating countryside, past
adorable towns and villages to Grein, place of Austria’s oldest city theatre and the castle of Grein. In the evening you can take a stroll in this picturesque little town.
Day 4 Tuesday: Grein to Melk to Tulln, 32 miles (51 km). The ship takes you through the Strudengau, a narrow point in the river notorious amongst skippers where the current is very strong. The valley expands from Persenbeug and the bike tour leads you further to Melk with its gorgeous baroque monastery. On deck you can enjoy the sunset and the beautiful evening illumination of the Wachau. Today’s final destination is Tulln, famous for its numerous market gardens.
Day 5 Wednesday: Tulln to Vienna, 22 miles (35 km)
As you approach Vienna, you will discover the monastery of Klosterneuburg set in a breathtaking landscape. You will see the domed roof of this 900 year old, baroque building from a distance. “Kahlenbergdorf” with its wine taverns is definitely worth a visit. After a stroll through the vineyards, you can enjoy the panoramic view over Vienna.
Day 6 Thursday: Rest day in Vienna. There is an optional city tour by bike or bus which begins shortly after breakfast. After the tour, you have the entire day to discover this beautiful city.

Day 7 Friday: Wachau to Krems-Emmersdorf, 22 miles (36 km). Your last cycle day – an enchanting ride through the Wachau. In Spitz you will find cosy wine taverns directly besides the bike path. You owe it to yourself to take a break! Back on board and after dinner you will discover some hidden talents amongst the crew during a show.
Day 8 Saturday: Passau.
As you cruise through the Danube valley you get one last look at the
Schlögener loop, before you leave the ship in Passau, at approximately 12.30pm
